Virginia M. Nisbet, M.D.
Board Certified – Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Nisbet went to medical school at UTMB Galveston, receiving her Doctor of Medicine in 1994 and completed her OB/GYN residency there in 1998 and worked as a clinical instructor there for an additional year. Having lived in League City since 1976, she wanted to practice in this area and began private practice in 1999.
Dr. Nisbet has been married for 40 years to her husband, John, and currently lives with her beautiful dog and three ornery but lovable cats. They have two children who are married and also live in this area.
She is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Beth K. Files, M.D.
Board Certified – Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Files received her medical doctorate from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she was OB/GYN Administrative Chief Resident. She graduated with honors from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
In the past 10 years, Dr. Files has gained experience and participated in research in such diverse fields such as ultrasound osteoporosis screening, physician screening practices in the elderly, muscular response to visual stimulation and a medical sciences directorate at NASA JSC. She completed a six-week externship in general medicine at St. John Hospital in Bangalore, India, and has taught classes to first and second-year medical school students. Dr. Files was also a volunteer at the Shiloh Clinic for the Homeless and the Lafayette Crisis Center.
Dr. Files is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medial Society.Dr. Files is Board Certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is married and has two children.
Michele Blackwell, M.D.
Board Certified – Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Blackwell received her Doctor of Medicine from UTMB Galveston and completed her residency there as well. She then worked for the university hospital in a private practice for 10 years before joining Clear Lake OB/GYN. She is married and has three young children. “I enjoy the continuity of care we are able to provide our patients in OB/GYN,” she said. “Working with multiple generations of families and being able to help women in all the various stages of their lives is very rewarding.”
Jacquin A. Coombs, M.D.
Board Certified – Obstetrics & Gynecology
“As a child, I knew I wanted to be a doctor as my pediatrician had left a lasting impression on me. It was through volunteer work at St Vincent’s Hospital in New York City that I was given the opportunity to rotate through the OB/GYN clinic. From that point on, my future career as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist was sealed. Providing comprehensive and excellent care to women in every stage of life is a privilege which I take very seriously. Each patient presents with her own unique problems and it is my job to educate her about her health and well-being as well as to remedy her various medical issues. Bringing new life into the world is not only an honor, but it also makes the long hours quite worthwhile.”
Dr. Coombs received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from New York University in New York, NY. She went on to complete her doctor of medicine degree at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ. Her OB/GYN residency was completed at UMDNJ –New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, where she served as an Administrative Chief Resident. She was awarded the Resident Achievement Award in Laparoscopy from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and was nominated by medical students for the Golden Apple Student Teaching Award. She also earned 3rd prize during an NYU undergraduate research conference.
Dr. Coombs has been practicing OB/GYN in Texas since 2003. She is relocating to the Clearlake area from Port Arthur where she practiced for 6 years. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She enjoys traveling, exercising, theatre, and reading.
She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Carolyn V. Quillin, P.A.-C
Carolyn attended Baylor University and then graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1999 with a degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She is board certified in the State of Texas and has received her certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant’s as well as special recognition in Surgery. She has worked as a Physician Assistant in Pediatric Endocrinology, Allergy/Immunology, and Dermatology before joining our practice in August 2007. She has combined her interest in women’s health and her knowledge of Dermatology and cosmetic procedures to help us integrate our new skincare line, “NPF Medical Skincare”, created by our physicians to address the needs of our patients.
With her training in Dermatology, she is able to advise our patients’ that have skincare concerns such as anti-aging, acne treatment and prevention, and sensitive skin issues. She also performs procedures such as Sclerotherapy for leg veins, Botox cosmetic, Juvederm filler and facial peels for anti-aging and acne. She is committed to staying updated on the newest and best treatments, and is passionate about helping our patient’s look and feel their best.
With her interest in Women’s health, she helps manage our gynecological and obstetric patients by providing well-woman exams, routine obstetric care, and treatment for problem visits. She has a special interest in consulting with young women about sexual health education, disease prevention, and contraceptive management.
Carolyn is married to Dr. Robert Quillin, a local pediatrician. Their 3 children and 4 dogs keep them quite busy. In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, creative projects of all types, music, traveling, and fitness.
Sonal L. Parikh, PA-C
Sonal holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of Illinois at Chicago with a concentration in Psychology. She earned her Masters of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, a nationally board certified Physician Assistant and currently licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Texas. She also has a heart for volunteer work from serving at the Ronald McDonald House to volunteering with the March of Dimes Walk.
She believes her role in caring for women is to optimize health, prevent disease when possible, and to identify and remedy problems as early as possible with the most effective and appropriate methods currently available.
Sonal is a recent newlywed who enjoys traveling, dancing, reading, and watching sports in her spare time.
