Virginia M. Nisbet, M.D.
Board Certified – Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Nisbet went to medical school at UTMB Galveston, receiving her Doctor of Medicine in 1994 and completed her OB/GYN residency there in 1998 and worked as a clinical instructor there for an additional year. Having lived in League City since 1976, she wanted to practice in this area and began private practice in 1999.
Dr. Nisbet has been married for 37 years to her husband, John, and currently lives with her beautiful dog and three ornery but lovable cats. They have two children who are married and also live in this area.
She is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She and her associate, Dr. Beth Files, are excited about Dr. Phillips joining their group. They look forward to her expertise and hope that her additional training in bio-identical hormones will be of great benefit to their patients.
Beth K. Files, M.D.
Board Certified – Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Files received her medical doctorate from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she was OB/GYN Administrative Chief Resident. She graduated with honors from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
In the past 10 years, Dr. Files has gained experience and participated in research in such diverse fields such as ultrasound osteoporosis screening, physician screening practices in the elderly, muscular response to visual stimulation and a medical sciences directorate at NASA JSC. She completed a six-week externship in general medicine at St. John Hospital in Bangalore, India, and has taught classes to first and second-year medical school students. Dr. Files was also a volunteer at the Shiloh Clinic for the Homeless and the Lafayette Crisis Center.
Dr. Files is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medial Society.
Cynthia B. Phillips, D.O.
Board Certified – Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Phillips went to medical school in Fort Worth at the University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, receiving her Doctor of Osteopathy in 1995. Even before entering medical school, she knew that she would enter the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She traveled to Roanoke, Virginia to complete her OB/GYN residency with Carilion Health Systems. During residency, Dr. Phillips wrote a paper on the Navajo Indians and their practices from menarche through childbirth. She has prepared presentations on Premenstrual Syndrome and Abnormal Uterine Bleeding. In 2000, she came to the Clear Lake Area and began practice with a group. She left that practice after five years, wanting to learn more about Bio-Identical Hormones and has spent the last year cultivating her knowledge of these hormones. She has opened her own practice joining Dr. Nisbet and Dr. Files. She looks forward to the art of caring for women from young adulthood through pregnancy and beyond menopause.
She and her husband, Preston, have been married for 13 years. She has one child, 3 stepchildren and a beautiful grandson. They have lived in the Clear Lake Area for almost six years with their two beautiful Shelties and a cat.
Dr. Phillips is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
